RiskManagement
There are THERE STEPS to Risk Management
1. IDENTIFY
2. ASSESS
3. CONTROL

IDENTIFY
Hazard identification is best done by talking to co-workers, asking them what they've noticed, and checking existing records of prior accidents, claims, near hits, complaints and reports made by supervisors and workers.
To begin identifying hazards consider the following:
- how suitable are the procedures, practises and equipment?
- how well are things located?
- how do people use the equipment and materials?
- how might people be effected by noise, lighting, fumes etc?
- how could the equipment, tools, substances and procedures hurt people?

ASSESS
When identified, the risk of these hazards should be assessed. This is best done by having staff discussions to decide on the severity and significance of each hazard.
Is there risk of:
- Death, permanent illnesses, disability?
- Long term illness or serious injury?
- PCBU needing medical attention or time off?
- PCBU requiring first aid?

CONTROL
If the risk is severe and/ or likely, think of as many options as possible for controlling the potential hazards.
